back in seattle
It's good to be home.
New York was amazing: there was great response to the White Sidebar; there were reunions with old friends and meetings with plenty of new ones; the epic parties and great food kept us busy in the scant off hours; and we returned home feeling satisfied with a successful show. The level of talent represented at WantedDesign was off the charts, the space was beautiful, and everyone loved the bunnies.
As we unpack and decompress, its clear that the Seattle brought its best to Design Week. The Seattle Made group was strong from setup to tear down and the impression we made drew people in and piqued their interest in what we are doing up here. The spirit of collaboration in the Seattle design scene was clear to everyone who stopped by the booth and looked at the many beautiful pieces of furniture, lighting, objects, and accessories we brought with us. It was a privilege to be part of it.
Maybe that is why it feels so good to be home. Aside from missing family, friends, and home, this is where it all happens. It is inspiring to see our design community transported across the country, undeterred by distance and standing strong. Now it is time to get back to that good work that was so well received.
Some well-deserved thanks to Gray Magazine for the media support, Hilliard's for the delicious and fortifying beer, and Caffe Vita for the restorative coffee. And a huge thanks to Seattle Made: FruitSuper, 16th Workshop, Chadhaus, Piano Nobile, Seattle Design Bureau, and Standard Socket - you guys are just the best.
